A Professional Employer Organization (PEO) is a popular option in the US whereby the PEO enters into a co-employment arrangement with the US tax resident employee, alongside the employee’s main employer. The PEO takes on full responsibility for all payroll requirements, including social security, pensions, benefits and so forth. This solution enables the main employer to effectively outsource all aspects of employment compliance to one provider.
This solution is not effective for most other countries. As a result, many corporates will look at the Employer of Record solution when Land & Expand into new locations.
