Kate Jolly, co-founder and CEO of The Briars Group

Receiving the Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year Bronze award at a ceremony in London, Kate pledged to continue to develop Briars Group, I’m thrilled to have been recognised in this way. I’m here on behalf of the very talented team at Briars who continue to support the growth and development of our services. I’d like to thank them and Citywealth who do so much to inspire women to achieve more in the wealth sector.”

Speaking on behalf of Citywealth, Karen Jones, founder and CEO of Jones Publishing, which owns and publishes the journal and its Powerwomen awards programme, said, “Congratulations to Kate for her award. Her emotional intelligence and use of social capital combined with detailed, technical excellence and the supportive environment at The Briars Group have enabled outstanding growth. She is the winning formula.”

The Powerwomen Awards ceremony is in its third year and spotlights individuals and companies who support care giving responsibilities, female leadership, and who celebrate diversity. The entrepreneurial category was set up to separate women who own a business from those working in an organisation as the skills and risk involved were deemed to be very different. The invited judging panel, which nominates entrants and selects winners in combination with a public vote, consists of a who’s-who in global financial management such as MDs, Global CEOs and Partners of companies including UBS, Deloitte, Citi Bank, Credit Suisse and KPMG.

The judges recognised Kate Jolly’s leadership and achievement in developing The Briars Group over 24 years to offer resourcing services that span financial, HR and IT needs, as well as international growth to provide the back office powerhouse for growing entrepreneurial businesses and corporate enterprises alike across 39 countries.
